David Yarrow’s (*1966 in Glasgow) evocative and immersive photography of life on earth is most distinctive and has earned him an ever growing following amongst art collectors. His large monochrome images are on display in leading galleries and museums across Europe and North America.
He is today recognized as one of the best-selling and most valuable fine art photographers in the world and his limited edition works regularly sell at high prices at Sotheby’s and other auction houses.
David Yarrow is exclusively represented in Germany by CAMERA WORK Gallery.
David Yarrow was born in Glasgow in 1966, and his passion for photography began early in his life . As a 20-year-old, he was commissioned by The London Times to take the legendary portrait of Diego Maradona at the final of the World Cup in Mexico City. It was not until many years later that Yarrow turned to artistic photography anddedicated himself to nature and its wildlife. This decision had a lasting impact on his career, and Yarrow’s passion for storytelling gradually took on a larger role in the creation of his works. His work is represented in internationally renowned museums as well as public and private collections. His photographs are available in exclusive editions and are held in high esteem in both primary and secondary art markets. The artist is also famous for his collaborations — among others with supermodels such as Cindy Crawford, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Cara Delevigne, with whom he often works on joint artistic projects.
Philanthropy is an important part of David Yarrow’s work. Since 2018, the artist has raised more than $15 million for charities and conservation organizations — including, in collaboration with Cindy Crawford, $3 million for the UW Health Kids Cancer Care Charity and $1.4 million for the #KoalaComeback campaign to support rebuilding efforts after the wildfires in Australia. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, he helped raise over £1 million for the NHS. David Yarrow is also an ambassador for several charities including The African Community and Conservation Foundation, Tusk, WildArk, The Kevin Richardson Foundation, and Best Buddies.
»When you look at these photographs up close, you’ll realize how significant, how intensely focused, thought through, and meaningful David’s work is.«
– Tom Brady (NFL superstar & art collector)
»What I love about David’s work is it runs the line between fantasy and reality. Those who aren’t familiar with his extremely intimate, daring, and captivating style may come across his images and find it hard to believe they’re real. Whether he is shooting in the wild or on set, David has the ability to capture the essence of what his subjects are feeling and translate that through the lens.«
– Cara Delevingne (model, actress & art collector)
»Working so closely with David and his team to achieve his vision and capture these magnificent creatures in all their glory was something I will never forget. I loved being just another character in his story.«
– Cindy Crawford (supermodel, actress & art collector)
