The exhibition Moods of the Sea II unites works by Thomas Billhardt, Sebastian Copeland, David Drebin, Elliott Erwitt, Hans Feurer, Olaf Heine, Thomas Hoepker, Jean-Baptiste Huynh, Russell James, Albert Watson, and David Yarrow. At its center lies the sea as an artistic theme, a source of myths, stories, and inspiration since antiquity.
From quiet, almost meditative moments to dramatic stagings of the breaking waves, the exhibition unfolds a panorama of the ocean’s many moods. The works reveal the sea as a resonance space of calm and power, clarity and mystery – an element that remains to this day an inexhaustible well of artistic exploration.
