Online: November 9 until December 22, 2022
The exhibition includes 25 photographic works by Steve Schapiro, who worked as the exclusive photographer on the set of the film »The Godfather«. He accompanied the shooting of the film series and created works that are both contemporary testimonies of pop culture and historical portraits. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the release of »The Godfather«. The exhibition features the most important major works of Steve Schapiro’s series – including well-known portraits such as »Marlon Brando and the Cat« and »The Kiss« – as well as photographs that are being shown for the first time.
Steve Schapiro passed away this year. The exhibition has been created in honour of the artist, who has been represented by CAMERA WORK Gallery since 2011. The works are the last works for sale on the art market signed by Steve Schapiro.
