Russell James: It’s About Time

Russell James’s exhibition »It’s About Time« features more than 30 selected works. A significant number of the photographs were created in 2025 and 2026 and will be presented publicly for the first time worldwide. The exhibition brings together nudes, portraits, and landscapes which, in their interplay, reveal the aesthetic principles that define the artist’s oeuvre. At the heart of the exhibition is Russell James’s thematic and artistic engagement with personalities who shape contemporary generations, including fashion models, entrepreneurs, and role models. Through his work, Russell James continues the artistic legacy of photographers such as Herb Ritts and Patrick Demarchelier into the 21st century.

Accompanying the exhibition, Russell James’s new monograph »It’s About Time« will be presented. Ahead of its official release, the book will be available exclusively and in a limited edition at CAMERA WORK Gallery. On Saturday, October 10, at 2 p.m., Russell James will be present at CAMERA WORK Gallery for a public book signing.

In 2027, numerous international exhibitions featuring Russell James will be held at selected museums and other art institutions. The exhibition at CAMERA WORK Gallery marks the beginning of this series of exhibitions.
