Carl Fischer is a photographer and graphic designer born in Brooklyn in 1924. He studied at Cooper Union and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. He began his career as an art director in an advertising agency in New York, where he worked with Paul Rand and Herb Lubalin.
A self-taught photographer, he later opened his studio in New York. He produced work that won the Mark Twain Journalism Award, the Cleo Award, the Art Directors Club Gold and Silver Medals, and the Augustus St. Gaudens Medal. His well-known works were created in collaboration with Andy Warhol, Muhammad Ali and Barbara Streisand.
His works are part of important international collections and are exhibited in museums worldwide.
